There was talk about changing the name to "did you see the dog?," as some didn't. There's a flower on the left - looks like another tulip, which also figures in flowers at the window and tulip trees.

Despite the positively cheery backdrop, the figure has an enigmatic expression of longing. The heart shape also shows up in an untitled piece included on this site where the man has a distinctly unhappy look.

The version above combines most of the original colors with corrections and other changes made in the version for printing, which is the second one below. The other one is the earliest saved version.
